Portland Trail Blazers Road Schedule in 2013-14

The Portland Trail Blazers are ready to blaze a trail all across the country this season as they travel to take on all of the best teams in the National Basketball Association. The Blazers look to be a team on the rise in the Western Conference. This club has a lot of young talent that should continue to grow together, and that's something that a lot of teams can't say right now. The Blazers have a tough schedule ahead of them, as the Western Conference is extremely competitive yet again this year, but this club won't back down from any challenge. With a bevy of tough road games on the docket in 2013-14, Portland is looking to steal some huge wins away from home as they shoot up the standings in their division and in the conference. Be there to see if they have what it takes to seal a big victory on the road this season.

The Blazers will certainly be looking to bring their best when they head to Oklahoma City this season to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder have dominated the Northwest Division as of late, and are a contender to reach the NBA Finals on an annual basis. With a star player like Kevin Durant and another top guy in Russell Westbrook, the Thunder are not easy to take down. However, if the Blazers can take away some huge victories from their trips to Oklahoma City this season it would show that they're ready to take the next step toward a title. See the Blazers in Oklahoma City or a number of other cities this season.

Portland Trail Blazers Team Info

The Portland Trail Blazers are a part of the Northwest Division of the Western Conference, a division that also features the Oklahoma City Thunder, Utah Jazz, Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets. The Blazers have two cornerstone players to build around in LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard. Aldridge is one of the more underrated big men in the National Basketball Association. Offensively he's about as versatile a player that you'll find at the power forward position. The former Texas Longhorn can post up and score the paint, but he can also extend his game outside for mid-range jumpers. His high release makes his shot virtually impossible to turn away, so when he's feeling good there is little a defender can do to stop him. Lillard is a great complement to Aldridge, as he's a dynamic scoring point guard that can really fill it up. Lillard won the NBA's Rookie of the Year award in 2012-13 after showing that he belonged in the league from day one. These two players are set to lead the Blazers this season as they try to compete in the tough Western Conference. Aldridge and Lillard don't have to do it alone, though. Portland has one of the best role players in the league right now in Nicolas Batum. While he still can grow into more than a role player, Batum currently provides the Blazers with fantastic defense on a nightly basis as well as a guy that can knock down shots. Portland also went out and get a defensive center to place next to Aldridge in Robin Lopez. Those two big men should complement one another very nicely. This team has a lot of potential, and fans are hoping to see them win a lot of road games in 2013-14.

Fan Experience

The action that you see in the National Basketball Association is the top hoops action that you'll find in the entire world. NBA basketball features some of the best athletes on the globe, and being there in the stands is the best way to appreciate just how incredible these players really are. The Blazers will be heading out on the road this season, playing 41 games away from home, and if you've never seen Portland play away from home then this is the year to change that.

Portland Trail Blazers Trivia

Where did Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard play his college ball?

The answer is the little-known Weber State, where Lillard starred during his collegiate career. Some scouts were worried that Lillard would struggle against NBA competition due to the small school he attended. It was evident that this would not be the case as early as Lillard's summer league days. Lillard would win the Rookie of the Year award.

Portland Trail Blazers History

The Portland Trail Blazers first blazed their path into pro basketball in 1970 and found success within the first decade of their existence. The team won the NBA Championship in 1977 thanks to dominant big man Bill Walton, and reached the NBA Finals twice in the early portion of the 1990s. This team is looking to add their second NBA Championship, something that the fans of the team are eagerly awaiting.
