Professional Bull Riders, Inc. was founded in 1992 by 20 bull riders who decided to attempt to make bull riding a standalone sport. Since those beginning days, the tour has grown to include more than 700 riders and 29 cities. Financially, the stakes have also risen, as the total purse from 1992 was $250,000 and is now over $10 million. Major networks have picked up these exciting telecasts, and the PBR is only going to continue to grow in popularity.
