Prospect Park in Brooklyn, New York has been one of the most popular attractions in the borough since it was first built in 1867. Landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, also known for designing the iconic Central Park, pulled out all the stops to create one of the most picturesque and pleasant parks in all of New York when laying down the plans for Prospect Park. Millions have enjoyed the park over the century and a half that it has been in existence, whether just for a family picnic, a romantic stroll, or to take part in one of the many festivities that find their home in Prospect Park.

Prospect Park is a year-round attraction offering visitors the chance to visit the Prospect Park Zoo, the Boathouse, the Audobon Center, the Litchfield Villa, or the Wildlife Conservation Society. There is also plenty of open area to explore in this sprawling park, whether you just want to walk around, throw a frisbee, enjoy a picnic, or just escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Of course, Prospect Park also brings big time recording artists like the National to hit the stage and perform for visitors. Prospect Park Seating Layout

Prospect Park is sprawled out over a 585 acre plot of land and is capable of holding tens of thousands of people. The meadow in the center of the park, known as Long Meadow, takes up 90 acres of that area. When concerts are held at Prospect Park it is all general admission and you can decide wherever you want to be for the show whether spread out on the grass towards the back or packed up front by the stage where you can get in on all the action.


Also located within Prospect Park is the Society of Friends private cemetery on Quaker Hill which is home to the grave of Montgomery Clift.
