Prospect Park Brooklyn History

Prospect Park in Brooklyn, New York has been one of the most popular attractions in the borough since it was first built in 1867. Landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, also known for designing the iconic Central Park, pulled out all the stops to create one of the most picturesque and pleasant parks in all of New York when laying down the plans for Prospect Park. Millions have enjoyed the park over the century and a half that it has been in existence, whether just for a family picnic, a romantic stroll, or to take part in one of the many festivities that find their home in Prospect Park.
