Most music artists learn to perform live simply by watching other stars take the stage. Not Alice Cooper. Instead, Alice
Cooper changed the way rock shows were staged and earned a loyal following of fans for his effort. He remains one of the best
live performers, and he continued to book dates, like his upcoming show at the Ottawa
Civic Center.
Vincent Damon Furnier was original the frontman of a band called Alice Cooper, but he soon personified the music so much
so that he legally changed his name to the band's. Furnier was a native of Arizona who began making music in the early 1960s.
By the end of the decade, he had started his run with Alice Cooper, which would skyrocket him to fame.
After releasing many hits with the band Alice Cooper, Alice Cooper the man embarked on a successful solo career. Some of
his biggest hits over the years include now-classics like "He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask)," "Poison," "Bed of Nails,"
"Hey Stoopid" and many others. The best way to hear any of his hits is at one of his
live shows.
Because he pioneered the genre of shock rock, Alice Cooper's concert
events are not for the faint of heart. In fact, fans never know what to expect at his live events, because he has been
known to bring anything from gallows to fake blood on stage with him. For true fans of Alice Cooper, though, they wouldn't
have it any other way.
