Often compared to Jimmy Eat World and Midtown, Brand New has been making its mark in the emo/pop-punk genre for a number of years now. They’re anything but “brand new”; they’ve developed a steady following from fans of the genre, and especially music listeners in their native Long Island, New York.

The band formed in Long Island in 2000, and consists of Jesse Lacey (on vocals and guitar), Garrett Tierney (on bass), Vin Accardi (on guitar) and Brian Lane (on drums). The band earned a strong following while performing on the local touring circuit, but it wasn’t until their first record came out, Your Favorite Weapon, that they began cultivating a national fanbase.

Brand New’s last album, 2006’s The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me, earned the band major kudos from the music press, who saw them taking major strides forward and maturing as a band.
