John McCauley is Deer Tick - a Providence, Rhode Island native who took to alternative folk music as a child and never looked back. Learning the electric bass in his teens, he started recording during those awkward years before release his first solo album "War Elephant" in 2007 (after brief work with drummer Dennis Ryan). Deer Trick followed up the successful debut with "Born on Flag Day" in 2009.
