Eagles of Death Metal seems to have been formed specifically to answer the question, "What is rock and roll about?"
What it's about, the band's music seems to say, is hard-driving boogie-rock, the kind that's soaked in testosterone and
will get you pumping your fist in the air (preferably while wearing gloves with cut-off fingers). Seeing this band live
is unlike anything you've experienced. Buy concert tickets to their
show before those critics beat you to it!
Eagles of Death Metal was a side project formed by Josh Homme and childhood friend Jesse Hughes. They had originally
formed around the same time that Homme was just getting Queens of the Stone Age off the ground in the late '90s.
When Queens took off, Eagles was shelved until 2003, when Hughes and Hommes began recording tracks together. Their
raw, adrenaline-laced music earned fans nationwide after the release of their 2004 debut, Peace Love Death Metal.
Since launching a debut LP, Eagles of Death Metal has become thought of as a side project for Homme. But don't brush
it off. Though it's not as well known as Queens of the Stone Age, it's definitely worth your time. There's a reason
critics get feverish every time this band releases a new album.
