Harmond Wilks has ambition. He wants to be more than just personally successful—he wants to share his wealth, as
well, and work to alleviate the poverty in ghettos of Pittsburgh. But for him, there's a way to do that and make a little
money at the same time. Wilks attempt to run for mayor will force him to confront his identity, though, and provoke questions
about money and heritage.
Written by American playwright August Wilson, this moving drama follows the character of Harmond Wilks, who runs for mayor
of Pittsburgh while he's also planning to develop a large swath of old property. The development will prove highly lucrative—but
when he discovers a home on the property was owned by an important historical figure in the city's black community, he's
torn over whether to go through with his plans.
