Lipscomb University is a liberal arts college in Nashville, Tennessee. The University was founded in 1891. The sports teams are called the Bisons and are members of the NCAA Division I, competing in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The team has a strong rivalry with Belmont University, located only three miles from Lipscomb. In 2006 both teams advanced to the Atlantic Sun tournament finals, with Lipscomb earning an invitation to the National Invitation Tournament.
