Randy Bachman Background

Randy Bachman was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and he was already winning singing competitions before he even entered kindergarten. When Bachman was three years old, he took home a first place prize form the CKY's King of the Saddle singing competition, and when he was finally of age to attend school, he earned a spot in the prestigious Royal Toronto Conservatory system, where he started to learn the violin. He studied the violin for several years, but by the time he was 12 Bachman was burnt out on the structured and systemized way he was learning music. Reading music was very difficult for him, yet if he heard a song once, he could play it back effortlessly.

When he was 15, Bachman watched Elvis Presley perform on a radio show and was inspired by the King's laidback rock and roll vibes. He quickly picked up the guitar, and when 1960 rolled around, Bachman was ready for the rock spotlight. Along with fellow musician Chad Allan, Bachman co-founded The Guess Who, which became one of the biggest rock bands in Canada. The Guess Who cranked out hits like "American Woman", "No Time", and "Share the Land". The band has since been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Bachman left The Guess Who in 1970 to pursue a solo career, and he later formed the group Brave Belt with Chad Allan. This rock outfit also had several international hits, such as "Taking Care of Business" and "Let It Ride". While Bachman has reunited with both The Guess Who, Brave Belt, and the Bachman Turner Overdrive for reunion tours over the years, he is still one of the most acclaimed solo artists as well. Whether you see Bachman on stage with The Guess Who or as a solo act, you can always expect a knockout show. Don't miss out on your opportunity to see the iconic Randy Bachman belt out some of his best rock tunes in concert—grab your tickets on StubHub today!
