The music genre of R&B/Soul combines jazz, gospel and blues influences, it was first performed by African American artists. Such bands as Tiny Bradshaw, Jay McShann and Johnny Otis all incorporated R&B and soul music into their sounds. The 1950 was definitely the premier decade for the classic rhythm and blues sounds
