Reality Fighting: New England's Premier MMA League
Are you ready for a night of MMA you'll never forget? Reality Fighting,
the longest standing promoter of Mixed Martial Arts in New England, hosts events at the Mohegan Sun arena in Uncasville, Connecticut
and the Wildwoods Convention Center in Wildwood, New Jersey. Your Reality Fighting tickets will put you face to face with
the region's top talent in men's and women's MMA.
New to the exciting world of MMA? Here's what you need
to know. Athletes utilize the fighting principles of boxing, kickboxing, Karate, Muay Thai, Greco Roman wrestling and Brazilian
Jiu Jitsu to test one another's skills. The objective is to win by knockout, technical knockout (TKO), submission or by decision
from a panel of judges. The rounds are five minutes long for men and last three minutes for women. The men's bouts go for
five rounds, the women's go for three, inside either a boxing rink or a six-sided chain link cage. Fighters are matched according
to weight-specific classes. The men's division of Reality Fighting MMA is divided into seven different weight classes, while
the women's competition only has one. A fight is stopped if one of the participants gets knocked unconscious (KO) by their
opponent or if the ring judges deems them unfit to continue (TKO). A fight is won by submission when one fighter causes the
other to "tap out" from a hyper-extended limb or choke hold.
History of Event
Reality Fighting held its first
event on July 20, 2002, and has been promoting fights to a growing audience, averaging four major events per year. The league
began humbly enough at the Worchester Palladium in Worchester, Massachusetts and moved to bigger venues as it grew. Each event
features between 12 and 15 fights with a mix of professional and amateur match-ups. This dynamic allows Reality Fighting to
launch the careers of promising young fighters while delivering some excellent professional match-ups comprised of world-class
talent. This league has helped launch the careers of some top names in MMA such as Chris Weidman and Gabriel Gonzaga and consistently
attracts new fighters to the region.
Reality Fighting has hosted over 50 MMA show events in the New England
region since 2002. With the legalization of MMA competition in Connecticut in October, 2013, Reality Fighting moved beyond
its original Indian Casino beginnings (fun fact: if you're wondering, it was legal at Indian casinos before it was legal in
the rest of Connecticut because the casinos are located on sovereign tribal land). Congrats, Connecticut: cutting-edge entertainment
is now widely available, thanks to Reality Fighting! The Mohegan Sun Arena and the Wildwoods Convention Center both have a
maximum capacity of 10,000, so it's best to get your tickets early.
With your Reality Fighting
tickets, you gain entrance to an area-style fighting event orchestrated by a team of professionals. The arena announcers are
sharp and informed while the ring girls are a welcome sight amid fighting that at times can get, well -- rather ugly. The
fights are back to back and follow one another in fluid procession so there is never a dull moment. Fighters have access to
top-notch medical care on site, and the event is staffed with security personnel focused on a safe experience for all spectators.
