Rebirth Brass Band Background
The Rebirth Brass Band first took shape in 1983.
The eclectic group was establishedby Phil Frazier (tuba); Keith Frazier (bass drummer); and Kermit Ruffins (trumpeter). Fate
stepped in for them when Allison Miner assumed the position as theirmanager in the 1980s. Well connected in the music industry
globally, Miner was able to use her reputation to land the Rebirth Brass Band gigs at prominent festivals all overEurope and
the U.S. In 1984, the Rebirth Brass Band put outtheir first album, Here to Stay. Five years later, they issued Feel Like Funkin'
It Up, and a string of sensational works permeatedthe next decade, including 1992's Take It To The Street and 1997's We Come
To Party. They forged ahead with their sound into the new millennium with albums like Hot Venom (2001); Rebirth for Life (2004);
and Throwback (2005), to name a few. In 2008, the commemorated their silver anniversary with the release of the album, 25!
25th Anniversary Album. The band's other albums include Rebirth of New Orleans (2011), which fared well on the charts, and
their latest effort, Move Your Body (2014). But besides their impressive catalog of music, Rebirth Brass Band has managed
to cultivate a loyal and distinctive fan base. From the young to the young at heart as well as crowds of varying ethnic backgrounds,
the Rebirth Brass Band attracts numerous fanswhen it comes to their mashup of soul, rock, funk and jazz sound. Today, Rebirth
Brass Band continues to trot the globe at venues all overNorth America and Europe.
