It's hard to fathom that the Red Hot Chili Peppers have been together for nearly around three decades now, with the band's sound still evolving and their popularity still growing. In 1991, when they first earned mainstream recognition with Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magik, they blindsided audiences who had no idea what they were hearing. The Chili Peppers first formed way back in 1983, drawing inspiration from the Los Angeles punk scene of the late seventies and the early eighties and mixing that raw energy with funk and humor.
