About Robert Cray Band
After seeing legends Albert Collins and Muddy
Waters in concert, Robert Cray was inspired to pursue musical professionally. He started playing local shows with his band,
and by 1983 he had released his first album with Hightone Records, "Bad Influence." Although the album has gone on to sell
over a million copies, it wasn't until his 1986 album, "Strong Persuader" when he became a huge star. The album was a sensation,
and helped Cray break into the mainstream. The album has been certified 2x platinum, and it was listed as one of the 100 greatest
albums of the 80s by Rolling Stone.
After the release of his phenomenal record "Strong Persuader," Robert Cray was invited
to join Eric Clapton on tour, and he was also featured in the Chuck Berry film, "Hail! Hail! Rock 'N' Roll" in 1987. Throughout
the years to come, Robert Cray played with the likes of John Lee Hooker, Bob Dylan, and Cream, and he also played at the Guitar
Legends concerts in Spain. He remains a fixture in American rock and roll, and continues to tour. His influence on the contemporary
