Rocky New York Plot

Would you consider yourself a pretty big movie buff? Well if you think your skills as a movie buff are among the best, why not take this opportunity to take in a show this weekend based on a movie and compare the two? Fans of film and Italian food will both love coming together to see a show like Rocky when it opens for the stage near you! Everyone knows the exciting tale that follows Rocky Balboa as he transitions from low-ranking amateur boxer to training his heart out in preparation of going up against the undefeated heavyweight champion Apollo Creed. While Apollo thinks he's got the upper-hand in setting up a fight against an amateur, Rocky goes the distance by punching meat carcasses in a freezer at his local butcher in order to get fighting fit. All of your favorite characters are back on the stage in this fantastic musical, from Rocky to Adrian to Mickey and Paulie!

Watch as Rocky trains hard, making his way from a simple amateur athlete to one of the most memorable fictional names in sports to grace our culture today. The show, much like the film, reaches an important point when Rocky comes clean to his new found romantic interest Adrian that in this memorable fight, he doesn't actually intend to beat Apollo Creed, who he feels is way out of his league. Rather, his only goal is to "go the distance", and prove that he can at least hold his own against such a prolific fighter as Apollo Creed. So don't wait to see the final billing when you come to the fight between Rocky and Apollo Creed, all you need to get in are your tickets to see this fantastic show when it opens for the stage near you! Rush out and get your tickets to see Rocky today!

Rocky New York Cast

When the show originally opened in Hamburg, it pulled from all around the globe to have the best possible opening that it could. Famed actors like Drew Sarich, Wietske van Tongeren, Terence Archie, Patrick Imhof, and Alex Avenell were all cast in important lead roles for this show. Thankfully, some have even decided to reprise their roles as the show moves around the globe! Some have left, however, which has left spaces open for the talent of Andy Karl, Margo Seibert, Dakin Matthews, Danny Mastrogiorgio, and Jennifer Mudge. These actors were all put through a very difficult vetting process to ensure that they were the right performers for the role, something the casting director for this show has taken a hard line on since it was originally being conceived. If you see just one stage show this year that will bring a smile to your face, let it be Rocky the musical! You won't want to miss out on some of your favorite key scenes being portrayed on the stage right before your very eyes, so don't wait any longer when it comes to purchasing those tickets. These seats won't be here forever, so secure yours today and be the first in your family to brag about seeing this awesome show!

Rocky New York Author

Though the show itself was penned by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, their work is based on the original screenplay written by the first lead actor to ever play Rocky, Sylvester Stallone. Many don't know that he's solely responsible for writing the original film, a movie that would launch him to become the action star that he's known as today. But before he earned his stardom, Stallone was hustling like the rest of us to make ends meet for the end of the day. In fact, at one point in his life, he had to sell his beloved dog for food. Thankfully, this story has a happy ending. Coming off of the success of Rocky, Stallone was able to afford buying his dog back. He's since gone on to do such memorable films as the entirety of the Rocky series, multiple Rambo films, and his role in Death Race 2000.
