The first record that introduced mainstream audiences to Rodrigo y Gabriela was re-Foc, released in 2002. In a short time, they earned praise from critics, who were hailing them as one of the most fun and unique emerging indie-rock bands. A self-titled record in 2006 spread their renown even farther, and 11:11 in 2009 secured their place as one of the best known Spanish guitar performers in the indie-rock scene.
