Rosanne Cash Background

Rosanne Cash was born in Memphis, Tennessee, but moved to Los Angeles shortly after as her father, Johnny Cash, pursued his music career. She grew up watching her father's musical career explode, and he quickly became one of the most famous artists in the world. After graduating high school, Rosanne hit the road with her father and worked as his wardrobe assistant. Soon, though, her musical talent shone through and she performed as a background vocalist during his shows. In 1974, she debuted her singing skills on Johnny Cash's album, The Junkie and The Juicehead Minus Me. She sand the lead vocals on the album's "Broken Freedom Song".

Rosanne learned the ropes of the music industry from her father, and she has maintained a level of grace and composure throughout her entire career. She released her self-titled debut album in 1978 in Europe, but it was never released in the U.S. Although she deemed her first album somewhat of a failure, it did attract the attention of Columbia Records, who signed her to their record label. Cash didn't achieve great commercial success until the 1980s, when she scored several number one country hits, such as "Blue Moon With Heartache" and "My Baby Thinks He's a Train". Her popular and critically acclaimed tracks helped propel her into the spotlight as one of the biggest country stars of the time, and although she has taken brief hiatuses to work on personal issues and to focus on her family, Rosanne has maintained a consistently successful career throughout the years.

Rosanne Cash definitely inherited many of her father's genes for performing, singing, and entertaining. She is one of the most accomplished country artists around, and now you have the chance to see her perform live in concert by grabbing your tickets on StubHub today!
