Ross Ade Stadium History

Ross Ade Stadium first opened as the home of the Purdue Boilermakers football team in 1924, and it has been the home of the football program ever since. The venue has seen a lot of renovations over the years, keeping this structure up to date with some of the newer venues in the sport of college football. The seating capacity of Ross Ade Stadium was originally 13,500 and eventually expanded to nearly 70,000 before being cut back a bit to the current capacity of about 62,000 people. Many fans have been lucky enough to see a game at Ross Ade Stadium over the years, and this venue continues to be the place to be to see great Purdue football contests.

On that day more than 71,000 fans showed up to the game, which remains the record for Ross Ade Stadium.
