Rover's Morning Glory's Roverfest is an annual music festival that celebrates almost everything
that is associated with "Rover." Each year, the festival is scheduled for one day in Ohio and pulls in a large crowd by selling
out tickets in a matter of minutes. It is a show that music and Rover lovers will not want to miss. This year, the event takes
place on Saturday, July 26 at the Black River Landing in Lorain, Ohio.
About Rover's Morning Glory Radio Talk
The Rover's Morning Glory is a morning radio talk show that started off at Cleveland's rock station WMMS and hosted
by Shane French "Rover." The show quickly became one of the hit shows in the Cleveland market when it started in 2003. During
2006, the show moved to Chicago, Illinois as a replacement for The Howard Stern Show when Howard Stern moved to Sirius Satellite
Radio. After a couple years in Chicago, Rover's Morning Show returned to Cleveland on WMMS in 2008. The show is presently
under contract with the radio station until 2017. In addition to the radio show, Rover's Morning Glory started to be aired
on a satellite radio version over Extreme Talk and has now moved to iHeartRadio for a live broadcast. As part of Rover's Morning
Glory, they started the annual RoverFest that includes celebrating Rover, drinking beer and an annual competition to find
women to participate in a calendar.
Trivia about Rover
Shane French (Rover) is a shock jock, much like
Howard Stern who he had once replaced on air in Chicago. He is paid to be what many consider crude and even rude. That is
the nature of his business. He has been involved in a number of stunts. One of his stunts involved filling up a number of
helium balloons that were then tied to random objects to see how many were required for lift off. Apparently, one of the "items"
was a kitten that escaped after flying for 45 minutes. When listeners called 911, Rover explained, "No, there was no cat out
there. It was all theater of the minds."
In May 2014, the radio personality Rover pleaded guilty to charges regarding
an alleged altercation between Rover and an off-duty police officer at the Whiskey Island marina over fireworks on the Fourth
of July. According to a report, Rover and his radio sidekick pleaded guilty for having created panic and disorderly conduct
when illegally using fireworks. Apparently, the two were near Rovers's boat named "Off Air" when Rover set off fireworks in
the direction of the off-duty police officer's boat called "Anger Managed," which confronted Rover. While the officer claimed
that Rover shoved him, while Rover told the arresting officers that he was assaulted and knocked out by the off-duty police
officer. In the end, the charges that remained focused on the use of fireworks on Independence Day.
The lineup for this year's festival includes P.O.D, Lil Jon & Trapt. The event is sponsored by Coors Light,
Paninis, Lady Jane's, and more.
The RoverFest experience is a celebration of Rover
and one can expect the kind of shock jock debauchery that keeps Rover's Morning Glory radio talk show gaining listeners. It
is no surprise that even after the incident regarding the fireworks on the Fourth of July, Rover has invited American Fireworks
to provide a special fireworks show for the festival. There will also be the Miss Morning Glory Calendar Search that focuses
on finding women to compete for their photo to be taken and used in Rover's calendar. In addition to different stunts, P.O.D,
T-Pain, Lil Jon and Trapt will be lightening up the stage.
