Salome is the opera by Richard Strauss based on Oscar Wilde's piece of the same name, via German translation done by Hedwig
Lachmann. Known for its seriously dramatic depictions of Biblical tales, the piece first performed at the Hofoper in Dresden
in 1905 and eventually became a staple in modern day opera features.
Classical opera tickets have always brought the eyes of the beholder to tears
and laughter - as works by Puccini, Wagner, Verdi and now Strauss have allowed patrons of the art to enjoy classic works
on stages around the world. With Salome and its classic "Dance of the Seven Veils," where Salome requests the
slain head of John the Baptist, this particular play is something unique.
