Born as Samuel Adams Wisner, Sammy would find a penchant for music at a young age, learning to play the
Piano before his tenth birthday and branching into writing and recording his own melodies and beats before his teenage years.
Besides songwriting, Sammy would become interested in production, seeing himself as a music writer and producer in the making
before even considering utilizing his vocal talents as a rapper. He would start to dabble in lyric writing during his teenage
years, borrowing from a wide swathe of genres and musical styles that ranged from old school rap and classical to blues. After
years of slowly honing his talents, Sammy would begin to write and record his own music in earnest while in college, tapping
into his musical reserves that would erupt into the forefront of the music scene with a remix of Asher Roth's popular college
single "I Love College".
With newfound popularity from his first remix, Sammy continued to build up his personal brand
with a steady stream of remix hits, building a rabid following on YouTube that netted him millions upon millions of hits on
his channel. By 2010 he would have built enough hype for his debut EP, a monumental commercial success that moved him firmly
into the hip hop mainstream.
Sammy would make the move to London, recording his second mixtape before embarking on a
college tour all across North America. He would play the iconic Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, and soon found himself with
a record deal offer from mega label RCA Records. With his work reaching an ever widening audience, Adams hit the studio to
record more original material, and immediately moved into pop culture stardom as he performed on Conan O'Brien, was featured
on Teen Vogue, and had his work featured on television in an AT&T advertising campaign.
Not just content with limiting
himself to the realm of music, Sammy has made inroads into the acting industry, with two acting credits to date in the teen
reboot 90210 as well as reality TV show Berlin Day'n'Night. Always a diverse performer, Sammy has also remained a consistent
force on the tour scene, and collaborated with other entertainment heavy hitters such as OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder and R&B
icon Mike Posner. Now with six years on the international music scene, this hip hop sensation is showing no signs of slowing
down as he continues to slay audiences and pack theatres all across the globe.
2010 debut Boston's Boy remains the pivotal work of this young performers career, a breakout success that blew up the music
charts with appearances on the Billboard 200, a #21 showing on the US R&B chart, and a #7 showing on the US Rap chart.
The album would feature a medley of innovative producers, including Matty Trump, Ski Beatz, and Nottz, with the album emphasizing
Sammy's addictive sound that floats somewhere between alternative hip hop and raptronica. The album featured four singles
that would invade radio waves worldwide, including "Tab Open", "Driving Me Crazy", "Just Sayin'", and "Still I Rise".
second EP Homecoming would drop three years later, this time released on major label RCA and featured producer legend Arthur
McArthur. The album would climb to the #45 position on the Billboard 200, and go top ten on the US Rap charts with a peak
at the #5 spot. The six track EP would move deeper into Sammy's hip hop roots, and was carried by the addictive tracks "Stop
the Music", "I Wish", and "Touch".
In addition to original material, Sammy Adams got his first
break in the mixtape game, and has released five mixtapes to date. His debut mixtape Boston's Opening Day remains his breakout
work, and 2014's WIZZY has shown he has lost none of his mix making magic.
