San Diego Chargers Road Games

San Diego Chargers Road Games tickets

2014 San Diego Chargers Road Schedule

The San Diego Chargers are ready to electrify stadiums all across the country as they travel to face some of the best teams in the National Football League, as the Bolts will be looking to get right back to the playoffs after a winning 2013 campaign. The Chargers netted some big victories last season and showed that they're not a team to take lightly, flashing their potential and also showing fans that the sky is limit for this team if they put it together. Home games at Qualcomm are always hopping with passion and energy, but the Chargers also have quite the fan base that heads out to see the Chargers on the road every time they hit the field in foreign territory.

One of the biggest matchups every season, of course, is when the Chargers will travel to Kansas City to take on a Chiefs team that played very well last season. Stopping Jamaal Charles is obviously never easy, but the Chargers have the type of defense that can shut down anyone if they get the right game plan going. The Chiefs will take on the Chargers in Kansas City to wrap up the season on Dec. 28, marking the last game of the season and a matchup that is sure to have plenty of fanfare. San Diego will also have their work cut out for themselves when they head to Denver this season to take on the Broncos, as they'll battle it out with Peyton Manning and the Broncos on Thursday, Oct. 23.

It's not only about the divisional matchups, however, as there are plenty of other exciting opportunities on the schedule this season. One that will definitely draw the attention of fans this season will be the Monday Night Football opener on Sept. 8 against the Cardinals, which will kick-off the season in riveting fashion. A Nov. 2 matchup against the Dolphins in Miami is another game that will have some Chargers' colors in the stands and a Dec. 20 game up in San Francisco will be the perfect Californian rivalry matchup that will be perfect for Bolts' fans looking to hit the road. With so many different exhilarating matchups, it simply doesn't get any better than this.

San Diego Chargers Team Info

One thing that the Chargers definitely reminded the rest of the league of was that Philip Rivers is still one of the very best quarterbacks in the league. Rivers looked like himself again after a couple of tough seasons, and a big reason for that was the emergence of rookie wide receiver Keenan Allen. Allen looks like a seasoned veteran out on the field, and has become a reliable target for Rivers. Also helping out in a big way was Ryan Mathews, who has an up-and-down early part of his career due to nagging injuries that have made it difficult for him to live up to his first-round billing. But Mathews pulled it all together in 2013, putting up 1,255 rushing yards and finishing the season as one of the top rushers in the league. With an offense that has some serious weapons and a defense that also has plenty of potential, the Chargers will be looking to take another step forward this season.

NFL Road Experience

There's a reason that so many fans of the National Football League make it out to stadium across the country each and every week to see their favorite teams. The NFL is filled with some of the most impressive athletes in the entire world, and that's something that really comes through when you see the game in person. Seeing the game on TV doesn't even compare to watching the game from the stands, though you're not really going to understand that until you're in the stands next to thousands of your fellow fans. There's an amazing atmosphere that goes with being at the game in person, and that's something you can see for yourself when you head out to the stadium sometime soon.

San Diego Chargers History

The San Diego Chargers were founded as the Los Angeles Chargers and first took the field in 1960. The team called the City of Angels home for one year before moving south to San Diego, where they were welcomed with open arms. The team won the championship of the American Football League in 1963 and the Chargers first reached the Super Bowl in 1994, but were unable to win the big game due to the dynamic 49ers team led by Steve Young and Jerry Rice. With the Chargers still chasing the Vince Lombardi Trophy and a roster that has some serious upside, there has never been a better time to hit the road to cheer for your Chargers.

San Diego Chargers Trivia
