San Diego Chargers Schedule

San Diego Chargers Schedule - Chargers Schedule

San Diego Chargers Schedule

The San Diego Chargers are ready to electrify their home stadium and stadiums all over the country this season as they take on some of the best teams in the National Football League. The Chargers always seem to have one of the most talented rosters in the National Football League and seem to often have a good balance of offensive firepower and defensive prowess as well. This season the Chargers are looking to finish atop the AFC West standings, which means they'll have to beat out the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders in the win column. This team looks to have what it takes to get the job done, but they could still use the benefit of hearing their fans cheering for them whether at home or on the road.

The Broncos won the division title and took down the Chargers in the postseason in 2013, so the Chargers will be out for revenge in 2014. The Chargers will take on the Broncos both in San Diego and Denver, and they need to get at least one victory against this divisional foe. The Bolts will also have to take at least one game from the Kansas City Chiefs, another AFC West team that made the postseason.

San Diego Chargers Team Info

The San Diego Chargers put together a nice season in 2013, surging down the stretch and securing a spot in the playoffs. The Chargers were able to win a playoff game before falling to the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round. The Bolts are back in 2014 and hoping to exceed the success of last season. This team boasts a balanced offensive attack, with running back Ryan Mathews setting the table on the ground. Mathews was finally able to stay healthy for most of the season in 2013, something that had eluded him previously throughout his relatively young career. He is finally showing that he can live up to the hype that made him a first round draft pick several years ago. Quarterback Philip Rivers has a nice target in second-year wide receiver Keenan Allen, who excelled during his rookie year in 2013. If Allen can take the next step in his development, Rivers could turn in a huge season. The Bolts defense will have to play well for the team to contend for the AFC West title, but this group is certainly capable of making it happen.

Fan Experience

If you're looking for hardcore football excitement, look no further than to the San Diego Chargers to deliver on the action, as the Chargers know a thing or two about putting on a show for their dedicated fans. West Coast rivalries run deep with the Chargers, which is whyChargers - Raiders ticketsare typically some of the most anticipated tickets each and every season, though the rest of the schedule certainly isn't lacking in great games that you know you'll want to be a part of. Start making your plans as soon as you can so you can see the big game the way it was meant to be seen. Qualcomm Stadiumis where the Chargers call home, and it's where fans will flock to when they want to see this team hit the field in San Diego. Road contests are also great to attend, as seeing the Bolts shock opposing fans is always an exciting sight. The Chargers have another talented team this season that is sure to wreak havoc on the AFC West, which is never an easy task thanks to intense rivalries with the Broncos, Chiefs and Raiders. But even though home games are sure to be loaded with excitement, away games can be just as exhilarating - something you need to see first-hand if you're going to get a feel for the intensity.

San Diego Chargers Trivia

Where did San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers attend college?

The answer is North Carolina State, where he starred in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Rivers was drafted with the fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft in 2004 by the New York Giants before being traded to the Chargers on draft day as a part of the package to allowed New York to get Eli Manning, whom the Chargers had drafted with the top pick in the draft that year.

San Diego Chargers History

The San Diego Chargers were founded back in 1960 and first took the field as the Los Angeles Chargers. The team only played in Los Angeles for one season before moving down the coastline to San Diego. The Chargers captured the league championship when they were a part of the American Football League in 1963. The Chargers first reached their only Super Bowl in 1994, though they were unable to emerge victorious. The Chargers are still hunting for their first time capturing the Vince Lombardi Trophy, and fans of the team can't wait to see a Chargers player hoisting the hardware.
