San Francisco 49ers Road Games

San Francisco 49ers Road Schedule in 2014

The San Francisco 49ers are prepared to do whatever it takes to win games as they set out on the road to face off with some of the best teams in the National Football League. The Niners are looking strong as heading into the 2014 campaign following a nice performance last year. The Niners, as expected, had one of the best defenses in the National Football League last season, but their offense has struggled a bit more than anticipated. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who starred in the postseason two years ago, experienced some growing pains during his sophomore season, as young quarterbacks tend to do. Still, the 49ers are in a good position to make a run at a playoff spot again in 2013, though their hopes of winning the division title will likely depend on how well they play away from home. With some big match-ups looming on their road schedule in 2013, the Niners are going to have to give it everything they've got every time they hit the field at an opposing team's venue.

The Niners will definitely be looking forward to visiting the Seattle Seahawks this season. Last year the Seahawks beat the Niners out for the division title, defeated San Francisco again in the postseason and went on the win the Super Bowl. The Seahawks have one of the best defenses in the National Football League, but their offensive unit is very solid as well. The Niners would be well-served to slow down Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch to try to grind the Seattle offense to a halt. Another division rival that should give the Niners a tough game away from home this season is the Arizona Cardinals. It should be a thrill ride of a 2014 campaign for San Francisco this season.

San Francisco 49ers Team Info

The San Francisco 49ers put together a very solid season in 2013, though they failed to return to the Super Bowl just one season removed from reaching the big game. This Niners team suffered some tough losses early in the 2013 season, most notably a shellacking at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. However, the Niners rebounded nicely and were able to reach the postseason. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick struggled a bit with consistency after looking almost superhuman during his first season as a starter, but a reliable ground game led by running back Frank Gore kept the offense afloat. San Francisco still needs to shore up their performance in some areas, but nobody would be surprised if things clicked for this team in 2014 and they made it back to the Super Bowl for another run at the Vince Lombardi trophy.

Fan Experience

There is nothing better than being there in the stands when your favorite sports team takes the field. Fans of the National Football League simply can't get enough of witnessing their favorite players from the stands, and that's something you can experience for yourself when you head out to see the San Francisco 49ers on the road this season. The Niners have a lot of talented players that are sure to wow you. Away games can be even more fun than home games, as you'll get to see the Niners take the field in a hostile environment to battle both the opposing team and the opposing fans. Make sure you're there for the biggest match-ups of the season so you can appreciate all the NFL has to offer.

San Francisco 49ers Trivia

Where did San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick go to college?

The answer is the University of Nevada. Kaepernick may not have been a big name coming out of college, but he was an incredible performer on the collegiate level. The Niners already had a starting quarterback at the time in Alex Smith, but the youngster eventually overtook Smith (a former first overall pick) for the starting gig and led the team to the Super Bowl during his first stint as a starter. Kaepernick has the ability to hurt defenses with his legs and his arm, and his future in the National Football League looks incredibly bright.

San Francisco 49ers History

The San Francisco 49ers were founded in 1946 as a member of the AAFC and became a member of the National Football League three years later when the two leagues merged. The Niners were a dynasty in the 1980s under the leadership of head coach Bill Walsh. With some great play from Hall-of-Fame quarterbacks Joe Montana and Steve Young, the Niners were able to win Super Bowl titles in 1981, 1984, 1988, 1989 and 1994. The team returned to the Super Bowl in 2012 but was unable to win the big game that time around. The Niners are looking forward to the next time they reach the big game, hoping that they can emerge victorious and capture the sixth Super Bowl Championship in team history.
