San Francisco 49ers Team Info
The San Francisco 49ers put together
a very solid season in 2013, though they failed to return to the Super Bowl just one season removed from reaching the big
game. The Niners even rebounded nicely following a couple of tough early losses and were able to reach the postseason, showing
that this is a team that is going to be around for quite a while. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick came back to Earth just a little
bit in 2013, though he still posted an incredible overall season and has the 49ers thinking that they can play with anyone
in the league on a given Sunday. With some serious balance and some of the most electrifying playmakers in the league, this
is a team that definitely won't be going quietly this season.

San Francisco 49ers History
The San Francisco
49ers were founded in 1946 as a member of the AAFC and became a member of the National Football League three years later,
when the two leagues merged. The Niners were a dynasty in the 1980s under the leadership of head coach Bill Walsh, providing
some of the top teams in the history of the league. With some great players including Hall-of-Fame quarterbacks Joe Montana
and Steve Young as well as legends like Jerry Rice and more, the Niners were able to win Super Bowl titles in 1981, 1984,
1988, 1989 and 1994. The team returned to the Super Bowl in 2012 but was unable to win the big game that time around. With
a team noted for having one of the most talented rosters in the league and a great young nucleus, there is plenty of 49ers
excitement to go around in the Bay Area these days.
San Francisco 49ers Trivia
Where did San Francisco
49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick go to college?
The answer is the University of Nevada. Kaepernick may not have been
a big name coming out of college, but he was an incredible performer on the collegiate level. The Niners already had a starting
quarterback at the time in Alex Smith, but the youngster eventually overtook Smith (a former first overall pick) for the starting
gig and led the team to the Super Bowl during his first stint as a starter.
