2014 San Francisco 49ers Schedule
With one of the most touted teams in the league, the San Francisco 49ers are
looking to take their game to the next level, bringing them right up against the defending champion Seahawks in a battle for
supremacy in the ultra-competitive NFC West. You can't forget about the Cardinals and the Rams, however, as both teams possess
plenty of talent and will be looking to make their move in the division as well. Put it all together and the 49ers are sure
to give you plenty to cheer about as they take their explosive team up against some of the best squads in the NFL, though
this is a team that definitely isn't going to go quietly no matter who they play this season.
It all gets started for
the 49ers at home on Sept. 14 when San Fran takes on the Chicago Bears in an old school NFC matchup that will get the season
off to a great start. A huge home game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 28 is another top-tier matchup that will bring
with it plenty of fanfare, though that's also just the tip of the iceberg. The biggest home game of the year will likely be
played on Thanksgiving (Nov. 27) as the 49ers take on the Seahawks in a game that will have the attention of the entire nation.
The Seahawks not only beat out the Niners for the NFC West title last season, but Seattle also defeated San Fran in the conference
title game on their way to a Super Bowl victory, providing an amazing matchup that will have beautiful new Levi's Stadium
hopping from start to finish.
It's certainly not only about the home games, however, as the road matchups are brimming
over with possibilities. An Oct. 19 Sunday Night Football matchup in Denver is sure to have plenty of 49ers fans in the stands
as San Fran takes on Peyton Manning and the Broncos, and you can count on another shootout when the Niners head to New Orleans
on Nov. 9 for a tumble with the Saints. On Dec. 7, the Niners just need to travel across the bay to Oakland to find another
amazing atmosphere and serious challenge as they take on the Raiders. With so many options on the calendar and a team that
has as much talent as any team in the league, this is a squad you definitely want to keep your eye on.
49ers Team Info
The San Francisco 49ers seem to be on the cusp of winning a Super Bowl, as they've got a roster stocked
with talent on both sides of the ball and they've made some serious waves each of the last two seasons. The Niners added to
their talent pool through the NFL Draft this spring, nabbing safety Jimmy Ward with their first-round pick (30th overall)
with the hope that he can come in right away and give the club some help in the secondary. In the second round the Niners
added explosive running back Carlos Hyde to the mix of their backfield and fourth-round wide receiver Bruce Ellington could
also factor into the mix early in his career. With Colin Kaepernick looking to take another step forward after a very productive
2013 season, this is an offense that can score with just about any team in the league. Add in a defense that is known as being
one of the stoutest in the league and you have all of the makings for another playoff run – one that fans hope doesn't
end until the Super Bowl.
The National Football League is the premier sports league in
the United States of America for a reason, as it boasts some of the most incredible athletes known to man. The NFL has become
renowned for its brand of exciting football that you can't find anywhere else in the world, making for a top-tier spectator
sport that will have you at the edge of your seat in no time. There is simply no duplicating the experience that you can have
in the stands alongside tens of thousands of your fellow fans, as this is a sport that needs to be seen first-hand to be truly
appreciated. Once you're there in the middle of a nail-biter that could go either way, you'll definitely be glad that you're
not still sitting at home.
San Francisco 49ers History
The 49ers began playing in the NFL in 1950, giving
fans decades-worth of thrills as they've established themselves as one of the premier sports franchises in the world. NFL
tickets to see the team from San Francisco have been some of the most sought-after in all of the National Football League,
and that's a tradition unlikely to change any time in the near future. The 49ers of the 1980s and 1990s are considered to
be some of the greatest teams ever assembled, with the help of Hall of Famers like Joe Montana, Steve Young and Jerry Rice,
just to name a few of the all-time greats that were crucial parts of their championship runs. With one of the most successful
franchises in the league and a team back on the rise, it's not hard to figure out why there's so much fanfare surrounding
San Francisco 49ers Trivia
Did you know that Steve Young completed more than 70% of his passes
In 1994, Young had one of the best seasons in the history of the position, leading the team to a blowout Super
Bowl win in which he threw a record six touchdown passes. For the regular season, however, Young accomplished something that
Peyton Manning has reportedly always tried to do: completely 70% of his passes for a full season. Considering that even Peyton
hasn't done it (yet), it shows you just how dominant Young was in 1994.
San Francisco 49ers Fans
the fans in the Bay Area were used to world-famous Candlestick Park, now they have a new home in Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.
But no matter where the game is played, the Niners fans represent like no other franchise in the league, which is why it's
always a good idea to come out and see this talented team in another season sure to be loaded to the brim with moments that
you'll be talking about a long time after it's all over. With the game on the line in a close one that could go either way
and the Niners just one big play away from sealing the deal, you'll see that it simply doesn't get any better than this.
