Santa Clara Broncos Basketball Schedule
Each year when the college basketball season really begins to heat up,
there is no better place in the country to be than inside the Leavey Event Center, the home gym of the Santa Clara Broncos
basketball team. Last season the Broncos had a difficult season and finished second to last in the West Coast Conference but
they are looking to have a big turnaround this season. Head coach Kerry Keating will have plenty of talent in the backcourt
which will once again feature Brandon Clark and Jared Brownridge, two of the best guards in the conference. If the Broncos
can get some production from their big men they could prove to be one of the toughest teams to beat in the WCC. This could
well be the season that the Broncos make their return to the NCAA Tournament after being left out of the field since 1996.
Be sure to get your tickets for all of the Broncos' biggest games from StubHub as soon as possible so you can get the best
seats in the house to cheer on Santa Clara.
In hoping to accomplish their goal of making a return to the NCAA Tournament
this season the Broncos will have their work cut out for them as they take on many of the best teams in all of college hoops.
The Santa Clara Broncos have home games at Leavey Event Center against the Cal State Fullerton Titans, the San Diego Christian
Hawks, the Washington State Cougars, St, Katherine Patriots, the Northeastern Huskies, and the Cal Poly Mustangs before conference
play even begins. Once WCC play gets underway the Broncos will host the BYU Cougars, the San Diego Toreros, the San Francisco
Dons, the Loyola Marymount Lions, the Pepperdine Waves, the Gonzaga Bulldogs, the Portland Pilots, the Pacific Tigers, and
the St. Mary's Gaels. There are numerous opportunities to come support the Santa Clara Broncos at Leavey Event Center this
season, just pick out the games you can attend and get ready for some action.
Santa Clara Broncos Basketball
The Santa Clara Broncos have been playing basketball for over a century, with the program first forming back
in 1904. The team has participated in the NCAA Tournament 11 times, including seven trips to the Sweet Sixteen, five trips
to the Elite Eight, and one trip to the Final Four. The Broncos have produced eight All-Americans and produced several future
NBA stars including Kurt Rambis and Steve Nash.
Santa Clara Broncos Basketball Conference
Any time the
Santa Clara Broncos are engaged in an all out battle against an opposing team, the stands are bound to have an electricity
that you can feel. The WCC is currently made up of ten teams: the Santa Clara Broncos, the Gonzaga Bulldogs, the BYU Cougars,
the San Francisco Dons, the St. Mary's Gaels, the Pepperdine Waves, the San Diego Toreros, the Portland Pirates, the Pacific
Tigers, and the LMU Lions. College basketball is a sport that you have to see in person to really understand the rabid fans,
which means it is always a great time to put down the remote and head to the arena for a game that you will be discussing
well after the final whistle. The West Coast Conference always has top quality college basketball match ups throughout the
regular season and this year will certainly be no different. In addition to a quality preseason schedule, Santa Clara will
see in-conference home games against rivals like Pepperdine, University of San Diego, BYU, and the juggernaut that is Gonzaga,
There's nothing like being in the stands when the game is on the line, so
ditch the couch, brush off the potato chips and get ready to see a game you won't soon forget. College basketball has plenty
of great games on the schedule each and every season, from plenty of top-tier regular season battles to Tournament clashes
that you'll have to see first-hand to believe. These are some of the best amateur athletes in the entire world, though that's
something that you need to see for yourself to truly appreciate. Will you be there when your favorite player pulls up for
a game-winning three that will have everyone jumping out of their seat in unison? There is nothing quite like being there
with thousands of your fellow fans as the Broncos look to pile up the wins and give their fans another memorable season, though
that's not something that you're going to figure out sitting at home wondering what the atmosphere of the big game is like.
Former Santa Clara Broncos superstar Steve Nash went on to win back-to-back NBA MVP awards but he has
proven to be talented in several other sports as well. In high school Nash played both rugby union and soccer in addition
to basketball and claims that he could have had a professional soccer career had he focused on that instead of basketball.
