Born in 1979 Eureka, California, Sara Bareilles spent her younger years intrigued by music, finding herself actively
involved in music related activities such as her high school choir as well as theater and musical productions both at her
school and in the local community. She is a self-taught musician who has taught herself how to play the piano, guitar, and
even the ukelele, but is likely most well known for her stunning vocals that are beautifully complemented by her piano skills.
Going from high school play productions such as Little Shop of Horrors to becoming a member of an a cappella group called
"Awaken a Cappella" while she attended college at University, she likely had no idea that she would become one of the biggest
pop vocalist in the coming years. Almost immediately after graduating Sara began to perform at open mike nights, bars and
clubs before two live demos in 2003, prompting her to release her debut album "Careful Confessions" the next year. This release
garnered her a contract with Epic Records, which had her writing new material for her next album as well as appearing on tours
as a side act or opener. It was in 2007 that her first single "Love Song" dropped just a month before the release of her next
album "Little Voice", with the two instantly becoming smash hits. The single was promoted by both iTunes and Rhapsody, hitting
number one all over the place and eventually going triple platinum, with the album itself going platinum. Her next album "Kaleidoscope
Heart" came in 2010, with hit singles being released beforehand and helping to make the album another hit. She has since kept
herself incredibly busy by acting as a judge on the NBC show The Sing Off and has released both an EP "Once Upon Another Time"
and album "The Blessed Unrest".
While Sara Bareilles first began taking her music
to clubs and bars ever since 2002 when she first graduated college, she wouldn't find the mainstream success that she currently
enjoys until 2007 with the release of her first hit single "Love Song" from her second album "Little Voice". Up to that point
she had only released a few things that included two initial demos that mostly consisted of live performances, and then her
debut album "Careful Confessions" which actually had much of the same material as her hit album "Little Voice". All of this
led up up to Sara being signed and releasing that first hit single "Love Song", which ended up going triple platinum after
intense promotion from iTunes, Rhapsody, and was even included in television commercials.
