Saskatchewan Roughriders Schedule
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are ready to hit the field and play hard against
all of the top teams that the Canadian Football League has to offer. The Roughriders have a team that is absolutely loaded
with playmakers on both sides of the ball. The Roughriders call the West Division home, where they're pitted against the Calgary
Stampede, BC Lions and Edmonton Eskimos. The Roughriders had themselves a good regular season in 2013, notching 11 wins and
earning second place in the division standings. However, it was in the postseason that the team really hit their stride. The
Roughriders got off to a good start in the first round of the playoffs by taking down the BC Lions. In the Division Finals
the Roughriders destroyed Calgary, a team that had posted the best record in the division in 2013, by a score of 35-13. Then
it was on to the 101st Grey Cup, where they took on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Thanks to an offensive outburst that netted the
Roughriders 45 points on the day, Saskatchewan was able to pull off a great victory. The Roughriders are looking to win it
all again, but first they're going to have to play well at home.
Calgary will visit the Roughriders for a matchup on
October 3rd this season, and it could be one of the best games of the year. Calgary certainly had high hopes last postseason
only to see them dashed by a hot Saskatchewan team. The Stampede will be out for revenge in 2014. There are plenty of other
great matchups coming tor Mosaic Stadium this season, and the stands will be packed to the brim with all of the biggest Roughriders
fans. Join them in the stadium this season and check out any of the fantastic games set to be played.
Canadian Football League has a long history of entertaining those who catch games in person, and that is a tradition that
is not likely to go anywhere any time soon. These athletes are extremely impressive, especially when you see them hit the
field in person. There is no better place to be for a big CFL game than right there in the stands as the game goes down to
the wire for an epic finish. The Roughriders always have a lot of talent on their team, and that means loads of highlight-reel
plays that will burn themselves into your memory. If you've never been out to the stadium to see this team in action, then
rectify that as soon as possible. With a team that can do a little bit of everything, you're guaranteed an exciting style
of football that will have you jumping out of your seat in no time as the Roughriders look to dominate the rest of the league
Saskatchewan Roughriders History
The Roughriders have been part of the CFL for more than
a century, making them one of the oldest professional football teams in the world. The team was originally founded in 1910
as the Regina Rugby Club, and they became known as the Regina Roughriders in 1925. They changed their name to the Saskatchewan
Roughriders in 1950, and since that time, the Roughriders have won multiple Grey Cups and several regular season championships.
The Roughriders have won the Grey Cup four different times. The first time that the Roughriders made it to the top of the
league was back in 1966, though it would take them more than 20 years to return to that level. In 1989, the Roughriders would
again get to the top of CFL, and they followed it up with wins in 2007 and again in 2013. It's not a surprise that the Roughriders
have put together a legacy of success on the pro level, giving you plenty of reasons to head out and see the action first-hand
as the Roughriders look to do their thing this season.
