Sasquatch Music Festival

These days, we know that we can listen to music in many different ways, but you're not even close if you think that you can conjure up the atmosphere of a top-tier music festival like this one. The Sasquatch Music Festival takes over beautiful George, Washington every year and brings some of the best musicians of the day to the stage, creating an exciting atmosphere that will have you ready to do it all over again. If you love indie rock, then there has never been a better time to come out and see some of your favorite artists (as well as some new ones) in a show that is sure to be the talk of the town leading up to the opening ballad.

Every year near the beginning of summer, George Amphitheatre hosts the Sasquatch Music Festival, where some of the nation's finest indie rock bands come to town to put on a show that is never exactly lacking in entertainment. With such a unique combination of different types of music, this tends to end up a one-of-a-kind festival, and you'll understand loud and clear that there is still no substitution for the live experience no matter how hard you try.

Sasquatch Music Festival Trivia

Did you know that Neko Case has appeared the most times at the Sasquatch Music Festival?

With seven total appearances, Neko Case of the New Pornographers has been a staple of this very popular Northwestern music festival. Other prominent artists who have appeared many times include The Decemberists and Modest Mouse with four appearances, Ben Harper with three and Nine Inch Nails as two. You never know who is going to show up on the lineup schedule next, giving you plenty of reasons to head out and make sure you get right into the middle of the excitement.

Sasquatch Music Festival Background

Over the years, since first coming together in 2002, the Sasquatch Music Festival has continued to grow and grow. You might have been able to catch appearances by popular artists from a wide variety of genres, including The Roots, Tegan and Sara, The Shins, The Flaming Lips and many more, and you can see fairly plainly why so many music lovers pour into town to get right into the thick of the excitement. These days, there are five total stages and thousands of fans that come to see their favorite musicians, giving you plenty of reasons to ditch the couch and head out to see it first-hand. As soon as you're there soaking up the vibes of a great concert, you'll be glad that you're not sitting anywhere else, as you'll be in for a unique concert event that you'll be talking about long after it's all over.

George, Washington

Known as one of the most beautiful places in Washington, George is just one of those places you absolutely have to make it to sooner or later. As a small town nestled smack in the middle of Washington state, George is a fairly new city, dating officially only back to the mid-1950s, but it's been ripe with creativity and a sense of humor from the beginning. Named as an homage and sly joke about the famous founding father and first president of the U.S., George, Washington wasn't incorporated until July 4th, 1957. And one of the most anticipated events that happens each year in George is the Sasquatch Music Festival, which celebrates the many theories and fantasies about the myth of Bigfoot, all rolled into a highly anticipated music festival that tends to be brimming over with popular bands that know how to connect with a live audience. As soon as you're there and your favorite artist is taking the show to the next level, you'll understand what the music scene around George, Washington is all about.

Sasquatch Music Festival Concert Experience

This festival knows how to get the people moving with a steady stream of amazing artists that pour onto the stage each and every year. Though it can be all right to just pop on a playlist and call it a night, it's a completely different thing to actually be there with an energetic crowd that is ready to cheer on some of the best indie musicians on the scene. Once you get there, you'll be glad that you're not anywhere else, as the atmosphere is going to be something you'll be talking about long after it's all over thanks to the great fans and talented musicians.

No matter the type of indie music you like, the Sasquatch Music Festival also probably has you covered, as one look at the lineup and you'll see that it's one of the most eclectic sets of musicians that you'll find anywhere. This is a music festival that you absolutely don't want to miss out on, whether you live in town or just a drive away, as its reputation only continues to grow as more and more fans take note.
