In 1975, in Portland, Maine, Steve Romanoff, Chuck Romanoff and Tom Rowe were sitting around, picking their guitars in Tom's camper, preparing to play with their respective musical groups at a local music festival. When they started putting together harmonies, they knew they were onto something special. Not knowing how they would make this new trio work, they kept their day jobs for a while. But, soon they decided to devote their careers to promoting and singing with Schooner Fare. And in 1978, the group released their first album, Day of the Clipper, which helped them launch their careers as a bona fide folk band. They released 12 more albums as a trio until the late Tom Rowe died in 2004. After a brief hiatus, Schooner Fare returned to the music world and began preparing for their next album. The Romanoff brothers carried on the tradition of fun and lighthearted goodness to give their audiences what they wanted and to honor their dear friend.
