This delightfully rousing and raucous band plays kicked-up Celtic and world music with hints of Bygpsya and Klezmer, with
a little punk-rock thrown in for extra flavor. The band consists of classically-trained fiddlers, a rhythm guitarist, a banjo
player and occasionally an accordion, and you'll have the basis for the wonderfully unique band Scythian (sith-ee-yin) that
has been wowing crowds all around the world with its adrenaline-pumping, high-energy performances that will get people up
on their feet and dancing. Their rowdy style comes from their years as street performers. They combine traditional and contemporary
Celtic and folk music with dramatic strains of Gypsy and Eastern European tunes. And just to add another layer of flavor to
their already rich and delicious music, they add a touch of old-fashioned bluegrass. You won't want to miss this exciting
group when they perform in a venue near you! Buy your concert
tickets from StubHub, and be there to be a part of all of the fun!
The band consists of five members with backgrounds that seem very different, but all share a common thread. The Fedoryka
brothers-Danylo and Alexander, come from the Ukraine, and bring their signature Gypsy-esque sound to the band. It's wild and
unpredictable roots contribute to the band's raucous sensibility. With Alexander on violin, mandolin, harmonica and bass,
and Danylo on rhythm guitar and accordion, the two bring years of honed musical skills to this amazing band of musicians.
Alexander found the Celtic spirit when he was playing music in the streets of Ireland. He combined it with the Gypsy soul
of his Ukranian heritage to create a unique sound that has influenced Scythian's signature vibe. Violinist, bassist and singer
Josef Crosby is also classically trained musician, and switched to the Celtic fiddle to become one half of the dueling Celtic
fiddles that make up the band. Ben-David Warner, who plays seven instruments and sings, grew up in America, but was heavily
influenced by the cassette tapes of NPR's Celtic radio show "The Thistle and Shamrock," that his father collected. He spent
time singing on street corners in Virginia and Ireland, honing his skills as a musician and a Celtic singer. Andrew Toy is
the last on the band roster, and he began playing the drums at a very early age. He enjoyed the versatility, power and visual
impact of the drums, which led him to play on a cruise ship for many years. While working on the ship, he performed on all
seven seas and in 70 countries. With so much history and so much talent in one place, it's no wonder that this band has seen
so much success. Buy your Scythian tickets,
