2014 Seattle Seahawks Road Schedule

The Seattle Seahawks are ready to take flight this season and travel all over the nation to try to defeat all of the best opponents that their road schedule has to offer. The Seahawks had a season to remember in 2013, winning it all by defeating the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl, capping an unbelievable season that saw them reach their potential in dramatic fashion. With one of the most tenacious defenses in the National Football League, the Seahawks laid waste to some of the top teams in football and have a quarterback in Russell Wilson who seems to only be getting going. Though the home games are sure to be absolutely packed to the brim with excitement this season, road games are also sure to have plenty of fanfare, as teams always are at their best when the defending champs come to town.

Perhaps more than any game on the schedule, the Seahawks will look forward to heading to San Francisco to take on the 49ers this season. The Niners narrowly missed out on catching the Seahawks in the NFC West standings last season, and the Seahawks defeated the Niners in the postseason as well, making their Thanksgiving Day matchup on Nov. 27 in San Francisco one of the most anticipated games of the season. Seattle will also head to the desert this year to take on the Arizona Cardinals in what should be a challenging matchup, as this is a team that's looking to make some major waves in the NFC West. The Seahawks will square off with the Cardinals on Dec. 21 in Glendale, marking another marquee matchup that fans will be buzzing about.

Outside of the division, there are also plenty of unbelievable matchups as well. An early-season game against the Chargers on Sept. 14 is one of the highlights of the early portion of the season and other top-tier games include Washington on Monday Night Football on Oct. 6, Carolina on Oct. 26 and Kansas City on Nov. 16. With so many opportunities this season to see if the 'Hawks have what it takes to defend their crown, the season is sure to be another one that will have fans glued to the edge of their seat all year long.

Seattle Seahawks Team Info

The Seattle Seahawks put together a great season in 2013, making a run all the way to the Super Bowl and winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy after a fantastic performance against the Denver Broncos in the big game. For Seattle, it all starts with their suffocating defensive unit, one that features big-time playmakers at every level. Offensively, the Seahawks have been as steady as they come, relying on running back Marshawn Lynch to spearhead the ground game. Second-year quarterback Russell Wilson played extremely efficiently despite his youth, and only seems to be getting stronger with every passing year. It's going to be difficult for anyone to ground this Seahawks team this season, and a return trip to the Super Bowl is definitely in play for this organization as they gear up for another intense season of football.

NFL Road Experience

The National Football League is the premier sports league in the United States of America for a reason, as it boasts some of the most incredible athletes known to man. The NFL has become renowned for its brand of exciting football that you can't find anywhere else in the world. When you're there in the stands at an NFL game you'll see why so many people love to head out to games on a regular basis. Road games can be even more thrilling than home games, so Seattle Seahawks fans are ready to head out to see this team take to the road this season. On the road you can learn a lot about the team you love, especially if they play in an especially hostile environment. And when your favorite team silences the home crowd with a huge play to seal the deal, you'll definitely be glad that you're not sitting anywhere else.

Seattle Seahawks History

The Seattle Seahawks got launched in 1976 and are currently a member of the NFC West division, where they've developed divisional rivalries with the Rams, the Cardinals and the 49ers. Over the course of the organization's history, the Seahawks have made it to the postseason more than 10 times and reached the Super Bowl in 2005, when they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Seattle returned to the big game following the 2013 NFL season and destroyed the Denver Broncos to win the first Vince Lombardi Trophy in franchise history. With all types of momentum and one of the best rosters in the league, there has never been a better time to be a Seahawks fan.

Seattle Seahawks Trivia

Where did Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson attend college?

The answer is both North Carolina State and Wisconsin. Wilson began his career at NC State and then transferred to play for the Badgers at the University of Wisconsin for one season. Wilson put up a fantastic year for the Badgers, but was still considered a late-round prospect for the National Football League, mostly due to his height. It's safe to say that there are a few teams that wish they could redo that scouting report.
