2014 Seattle Seahawks Schedule

The Seattle Seahawks are ready to take flight for another riveting season of pro football action, providing more than enough incentive to head out to CenturyLink Field to cheer on the defending champions. The Seahawks are prepared to take on all comers at their home field this season, and they're going to have to take down some of the top teams in the National Football League. They will likely have a target on their backs all season long after running the table and winning it all last year, but the Seahawks definitely have the talent to defend their title and will be looking to put together another memorable season of action.

It all gets started in a very big way, as the Seahawks will host Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 4 in the very first game of the season in a matchup that could play out in any number of ways. The Seahawks will also certainly be looking forward to Sept. 21 when Denver comes to town, as the Broncos will be eager for the rematch and the Seahawks would love to take down Peyton Manning and the Broncos once again after beating them in the Super Bowl. A Nov. 23 matchup against the talented Cardinals will be another tough matchup that will have plenty of fanfare, and the Dec. 14 game against the Niners at home will additionally be one circled on calendars all over Seattle.

More than just the home games, however, the schedule has all kinds of road possibilities as well. A road trip to San Diego on Sept. 14 will bring them up against another 2013 playoff team and it won't get much bigger than a Monday Night Football matchup with the Redskins in D.C. on Oct. 6. Perhaps the crown jewel of the road schedule, though, is when the Seahawks head to San Francisco to take on the Niners on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 27) in a game that will have everyone around the country paying attention. All in all, the 2014 Seahawks schedule is bursting with possibilities as Seattle looks to defend their title and solidify themselves as the top team in the best division in football.

Seattle Seahawks Team Info

The Seattle Seahawks are looking to avoid the dreaded Super Bowl hangover this season, and they definitely have the chops to make another run at the Super Bowl if they can pull it all together. Though the Seahawks traded out of the first round of the NFL draft, they eventually selected wide receiver Paul Richardson with their first pick, giving them another major target for Russell Wilson that should open up the offense. Offensive tackle Justin Britt should also help solidify the offensive line, while defensive end Cassius Marsh can add to an already devastating defensive front for Seattle.

With a very tough defense and some explosive playmakers like Marshawn Lynch on offense, the Seahawks certainly have what it takes on paper to do some serious damage. But what really makes them tick is the intangibles of Russell Wilson, who has grasped the NFL game way ahead of the curve and does things on a regular basis that normally only seasons veterans can do considering the complexity of the quarterback position. With Wilson under center and a very balanced team that can do it all, this is a team that is sure to make some serious noise once again this season.

Of course, the most historic season was 2013, as they put it all together and finally grabbed that long-awaited Super Bowl win, with their electrifying defense leading the way along with Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson. In an exciting era of Seahawks football, it simply doesn't get any better than this.

Seattle Seahawks Trivia

How did the Seattle Seahawks acquire quarterback Russell Wilson?

The Seahawks actually selected Wilson in the third round of the NFL Draft a few years back. That same offseason the Seahawks had brought in signal caller Matt Flynn to be their starter, but Wilson wowed them so much in training camp and the preseason that he was awarded the starting job and simply never looked back.
