About Sebastian Bach
Sebastian Bach (born Sebastian Philip Bierk, 1968) is
the former frontman of American rock legends Skid Row. After a decade of monumental success with Skid Row, Sebastian has moved
on to bigger and better things, including a solo career and a shot at acting. Sebastian hails from Ontario Canada, but would
eventually move down south to the States where his rock career would take off.
Bach would get his first 'big break'
in music with the band Kid Wikkid, which he auditioned for. Though he was fourteen, a fair few years younger than the older
members, he was hired. Bach would leave home for the first time when the band would migrate to Toronto, and Bach would follow.
1987, rock band Skid Row would lose their lead singer Matt Fallon, and the band would be in a frantic search for a replacement.
Spotting his talent and charisma while singing at a wedding, the band would ask Bach to join that same year. Bach's next path
in his rock journey had become clear. He would fly out to New Jersey, where Skid Row was headquartered, and begin his 9 year
tenure as lead vocals and frontman of the band. He would perform with other rock all stars such as Guns N' Roses and Metallica.
After trying to book a performance opening for KISS, his bandmates would refuse as they believed Skid Row was too big of an
act to open for KISS. Bach disagreed and left the band, pursuing other dreams.
Sebastian would form a new band dubbed
The Last Hard Men, featuring various famous musicians such as Smashing Pumpkins' Jimmy Chamberlin. They would record one album
with an extremely delayed release due to complications with their label. Bach would keep on fighting and in 1999 released
his first solo album, including five original tracks. He would continue to dabble as he moved on to Broadway and performed
as the title character in Jekyll & Hyde and as Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Show. He would move into television acting
starring as Gil on Gilmore Girls, and had a documentary made about him on VH1.
Sebastian would continue to work with
VH1 on the show SuperGroup, before releasing his next solo album Angel Down. His solo career has since taken off, with his
most recent album to be released in the second half of April.
Bach hit the solo scene hard
after his departure from Skid Row, starting with his debut album Bring 'Em Bach Alive!. He would follow up his success with
Bach 2: Basics in 2001, made up mostly of covers from Bach's favorite and most influential artists - including AC/DC and Ozzy
Osbourne. His 2007 follow up, Angel Down, would show us a musician that was constantly growing and changing while still holding
on to his east coast rock roots. Legendary rocker Axl Rose would join Bach for three of the tracks, and Angel Down would fare
well with critics scoring a 4 stars on Allmusic media. The album would be carried by "Back in the Saddle", a testament to
Bach's long career and proof that he still had the passion for music burning inside of him. Other singles released off the
album include "(Love Is) A Bitchslap", "By Your Side", "You Don't Understand", and "Falling Into You", all of which resonated
with fans old and new.
His next two album, Kicking and Screaming would again receive critical acclaim and would be carried
by the singles "My Own Worst Enemy" and "Kicking & Screaming". The album would chart at #73, and would lay the groundwork
for the excitement surrounding his much anticipated next release, "Give 'Em Hell".
After Skid Row
refused to open for KISS because they were "too big" to open for them, Skid Row would open for the KISS farewell tour in 2000.
one night, Bach opened a charity show, left to perform on Broadway, and returned to close out the show without ever missing
Electro rockers Dada Life are featuring Bach's iconic vocals on their remix of their single "Born To Rage".
