Siena Saints Basketball Schedule
Each year as the college basketball season gets underway there is no more exciting
place to be than inside the Times Union Center in Albany, New York, the home of the Siena Saints basketball team. The Saints
play in the competitive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and last season finished fifth in the conference with an 11-9 conference
record and a 20-18 overall record. The Saints will look to carry over some momentum after their championship win over Fresno
State in the CBI at the end of last season and head coach Jimmy Patsos has a talented squad led by 6'9" senior forward David
Laury who could help Toledo finally make their way back to the NCAA Tournament where they could make some serious noise in
March. Be sure to get your tickets for all of the Saints' biggest games from StubHub as soon as possible so you can get the
best seats in the house to cheer on Siena.
In hoping to accomplish their goal of making a return to the NCAA Tournament
this season the Saints will have their work cut out for them as they take on many of the best teams in all of college hoops.
The Siena Saints have non-conference home games at Times Union Center against the Vermont Catamounts, the Albany Danes, the
Cornell Big Red, and the Bucknell Bison. Once Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play gets underway the Saints will host the
Quinnipiac Bobcats, the Iona Gaels, the Niagara Purple Eagles, the Fairfield Stags, the Marist Red Foxes, the St. Peter's
Peacocks, the Rider Broncs, the Monmouth Hawks, then Canisius Golden Griffins, and the Manhattan Jaspers. If all goes according
to preseason predictions the Saints should be at or near the top of the MAAC standings all season long and that last home
game against the Jaspers could well decide who wins the regular season conference title. During their mission to leapfrog
teams like Iona, Manhattan, Quinnipiac, and Canisus, the Saints will need every last bit of home court advantage they can
get from all of their biggest fans at Times Union Center.
Siena Saints Basketball History
The Siena Saints
have long been a factor in the MAAC and continue to compete for the top spot in the conference. After finishing in fifth place
in the conference last season the Saints are poised for big things this season and are widely predicted to be in stiff competition
with Iona, Manhattan, and Quinnipiac. The MAAC is typically a one bid conference which means the Saints will have to be at
the top of their game all season long to make it back to the NCAA Tournament. They have appeared in the Tournament six times,
most recently in 2010, and have made it to the Round of 32 three times.
like being in the stands when the game is on the line, so ditch the couch, brush off the potato chips and get ready to see
a game you won't soon forget. College basketball has plenty of great games on the schedule each and every season, from plenty
of top-tier regular season battles to Tournament clashes that you'll have to see first-hand to believe. These are some of
the best amateur athletes in the entire world, though that's something that you need to see for yourself to truly appreciate.
Will you be there when your favorite player pulls up for a game-winning three that will have everyone jumping out of their
seat in unison? There is nothing quite like being there with thousands of your fellow fans as the Saints look to pile up the
wins and give their fans another memorable season, though that's not something that you're going to figure out sitting at
home wondering what the atmosphere of the big game is like.
Siena Saints Basketball Conference
Saints play basketball in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, or the MAAC, which is one of the top mid major conferences
in the country and has had teams go on to score some big time upsets in the NCAA Tournament. The conference is made up of

the Monmouth Hawks, the Niagara Purple Eagles, the Rider Broncs, the Quinnipiac Bobcats, the St. Peter's Peacocks, and the
Sienna Hens. The MAAC conference tournament is always one of the most exciting conference tournaments of the year as every
team knows they need to win the tournament in order to get a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Last season Iona emerged as champs
after going 17-3 in conference play and you can be sure that this season every other team in the MAAC will be looking to take
Perhaps the biggest game in Siena basketball history was played in the 1989 NCAA Tournament
when the Saints, led by Marc Brown, upset number three seed Stanford to advance to the Round of 32.
