Saul Hudson, better known as Slash, was born in London. He was raised by two very
creative and artistic parents: his mother was a costume designer for clients like David Bowie and his father was an artist
who designed album covers for famous musicians. There's no doubt that these two artistic people passed on their creative genes
to their son, because he found his love for music at an early age. His family moved to Los Angeles, and by the time he was
14, Slash was adamantly learning how to play the guitar. Although he initially started learning how to play bass, Slash switched
to playing the guitar after listening to some of the biggest rock hits from bands like the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.
After hearing songs from these phenomenal rock bands, Slash knew that he wanted to be a guitarist for a major rock band, so
he started practicing his guitar relentlessly, often playing up to 12 hours a day.
During his teenage years, Slash was
involved in many small garage bands, which helped him hone his skills as a musician and as a performer. But when Slash met
Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin in 1985, the course of his life changed. Along with Steven Adler and Duff McKagan, the five-piece
band became Guns N Roses, one of the most famous rock bands of all time. They released massive hits like "Sweet Child o' Mine",
"Welcome to the Jungle", and "Paradise City". Their crazy on stage antics and rebellious behavior earned them the nickname,
"Most Dangerous Band in the World".
In the late years of Guns N' Roses, Slash worked on a side project called Slash's
Snakepit, a band that met with mixed reactions, although they did do remarkably well commercially. Since 2008, Slash has been
rocking out stages as a solo artist, and releasing incredible rock tunes that feature some of the greatest artists in history,
such as Ozzy Osbourne, Adam Levine, and even Fergie.
