About Slayyyter
Slayyyter, born Catherine Grace Garner in Kirkwood, Missouri, has built a career on a maximalist, pop-obsessed sound that pulls from the turn of the millennium and pushes it somewhere new. Raised in the St. Louis suburb of Kirkwood, she grew up on the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and Michael Jackson, then found her own lane through the pop stars she idolized. She adopted the name Slayyyter as a spin on the last name of the Dazed and Confused character Ron Slater, building an early following through SoundCloud and social media.
Her 2018 debut single "BFF," a collaboration with Ayesha Erotica, introduced the brash, electronic-pop signature that would define her. A snippet of "Mine" went viral in early 2019, and her self-titled debut mixtape arrived that September, mixing dance-pop and hyperpop. The 2021 debut album Troubled Paradise, released through Fader Label, sharpened the sound, while 2023's Starfucker pushed it toward cinematic 1980s synth and dark club music. It became her first charting album, debuting at No. 17 on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and reaching No. 10.
Slayyyter signed with Columbia Records in 2025 and released her third album, Worst Girl in America, in March 2026. The visual album, with a music video or visualizer for every track, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and No. 22 on the Billboard 200. She has toured as a headliner four times and shared stages with Charli XCX, Kesha, and Tove Lo, and she brought her live show to Coachella and Lollapalooza in 2026.
