Sleep Country Amphitheater History
Sleep Country Amphitheater has been a fixture in the Washington music scene
since it first opened back in 2003. In a little over a decade of existence, Sleep Country Amphitheater has been able to bring
in all of the best acts in the world. When the venue first opened it was known as The Amphitheater at Clark County and regularly
referred to as the Clark County Amphitheater before the naming rights were sold to Sleep Country. Since it is an outdoor venue
its schedule typically runs from May through September, leaving concert goers a little over four months to experience the
wonder of taking in a concert at this popular venue. With such an incredible venue bringing in many of the top musical acts
in the world, how can a music fan resist a trip to Sleep Country Amphitheater?
Sleep Country Amphitheater Events
Country Amphitheater brings in some of the top musical acts on the road to perform on its stage. Past performers have included
Coldplay Steve Miller, Journey, Motley Crue, OneRepublic, and many others. There is more going on at Sleep Country Amphitheater
than just big time concerts. It is also the site of the Clark County Fair as well as several other annual local events.
Clark County, Washington is located not far from Seattle. As the largest city in the Pacific
Northwest there is always plenty to see and do in Seattle. The Puget Sound is one of the most recognizable geographic features
of the area and offers fishing trips as well as boat rides out to the ocean to see orcas in the wild. The city has long been
known for its excellent music scene from the jazz scene which helped the budding careers of Quincy Jones and Ray Charles to
its hip hop scene which produced big name acts like Sir Mix-a-Lot and Macklemore to its rock scene which produced legendary
acts like Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam. Of course the iconic Space Needle and its nearby park is one of the biggest
tourist attractions in the city and a trip to the top offers unbelievable panoramic views of the entire city. Sports fans
also have plenty to do, whether watching the Seattle Mariners or the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL, there is plenty of world
class athleticism on display at the professional level. Additionally college athletics at the University of Washington provide
thrilling Division I Pac 12 competition in a variety of sports.
Sleep Country Amphitheater Seating Layout
Country Amphitheater can hold up to 18,000 visitors and offers lawn and assigned seating. During most concerts you will have
the option to spread out on the grass and find your own spot and the venue even has lawn chairs available for rent during
the concert, or you can choose to pay extra for reserved seats closer to the stage. Either way you are in for a treat when
you attend a concert at Sleep Country Amphitheatre.
A July 10, 2009 concert by Coldplay became
the first event ever to sell out at Sleep Country Amphitheater.
