Sleigh Bells Background

Sleigh Bells' indie rock duo consists of Derek E. Miller and Alexis Krauss, both of whom had extensive performing experience before deciding to collaborate together. Miller spent several years performing in the hardcore band Poison the Well, and Krauss spent much of her teenage years in the teen pop group RubyBlue. Eventually, the two musicians found themselves in search of a new creative project, so it seemed almost as if it were fate when they first met. Even though Krauss was pursuing a prestigious Rhodes Scholarship, she decided instead to pursue her love of music with Miller, and Sleigh Bells was born.

The duo first started performing together in 2009, and shortly afterward they scored a record deal with a small independent label. With a record deal under their belt, Sleigh Bells headed to the studio to work on their debut EP, and once it was released it quickly became one of the most talked about releases in the indie scene. The self-titled EP garnered attention from Pitchfork Media, The New York Times, and The Guardian, and suddenly Sleigh Bells had become the hot new indie group to watch. The duo released their debut album, Treat, in 2010, and it was so well received that it earned them performing slots at festivals like Coachella and Pitchfork Music Festival.

Sleigh Bells seems to just keep dominating the alternative pop rock world with their catchy hits, which have been featured on TV shows and films like The Bling Ring, Girls, Gossip Girl, Bachelorette, and more. You may have also caught Sleigh Bells rocking out on Saturday Night Live in 2012, which also helped them establish an even bigger national fan base. This talented indie rock duo has exploded onto the music scene in the past few years, and now you can see them perform live at one of their upcoming shows. Take advantage of this opportunity and grab your tickets on StubHub today!
