Celebrate Stephen Sondheim is an unconventional way - rather than checking out a new Sondheim show, honor his birth this
March with theater tickets today! With the help of New York Philharmonic, every spring special
gala celebrations are put together with a pre-concert reception, concert and post-concert birthday dinner that vary each
year but always celebrate Sondheim's work. Check it out!
Stephen Sondheim was born March 22nd, 1930 and found his way into Broadway as the protégé of Hammerstein
via the renowned lyricist's son. The Broadway show composer and lyricist recreated the way Broadway music was heard - developing
benchmarks plays of the '70s and '80s like "Follies," "A Little Night Music," "Send in the Clowns,"
"Pacific Overtures" and more.
In honor of yet another birthday, the Roundabout Theater will organize this year's celebration that puts another candle
on the cake for Broadway favorite Stephen Sondheim, who revolutionized the way Broadway shows were built more than six decades
ago. Roundabout Theater produced five of Sondheim's' Tony Award winning plays - from "Company" to "Follies"
- helping to make Sondheim Birthday Celebration tickets extra special.
