Spookfest – The 2014 Event
Going on five years strong of musical greatness, Bay Area's Live 105 Subsonic
Halloween Spookfest of 2014 is occupying the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California to bring another amazing year of Halloween

Held in the cavernous and celebratory Oracle Area, the Live 105 Subsonic Halloween Spookfest is only
enhanced by the beautiful California climate and friendly people. The spirit of Oakland clearly lends itself to the event,
and many attendees will doubtless describe the event as the perfect location for Spookfest. All Hallows Eve has never been
more exciting. So get ready to bond with your fellow fans, find your surrogate subsonic family, and have the best Halloween
of your life. Grab your ticket and prepare your costume (just no excessive face-paint or masks, please) because the 2014 Live
105 Spookfest is going to be the best Halloween party you'll ever have.
The Subsonic Halloween
Spookfest was started in 2009 by Live 105 and would be first held on October 30 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, California.
The first concert had three stages of performers, who were by and large the artists played on the Live 105 Saturday night
show Subsonic. This year's festivities actually fall right on Halloween, making Spookfest 2014 the most hauntingly exciting
experience in the event's history. The Oracle Arena's capacity is an astounding 20,000, so get ready for the best Halloween
music event in the nation that you definitely do not want to miss.
This year's lineup is turning out to be the most
dynamic and thrilling yet. Don't miss Alesso of Sweden, who brings his uplifting crescendos to all of his tracks. This incredible
chart-topper has collaborated with the likes of One Republic and Calvin Harris, and is not to be missed. EDM fans can also
look forward to the fresh and funky beats of Canadian duo Chromeo, whose latest release White Women is a self-aware breakdown
of the urban scene and happens to deliver butt-targeting tunes as well. Originally hailing from Southampton, Gareth Emery
will be a treat with his genre-defying music. Because or in spite of his classical training, Emery has a unique sound that
blends progressive, trance, and house into his sterling repertoire. Another British DJ sensation, Duke Dumont, will be in
attendance. Dumont's crowd-pleasing mixes have long been a staple in any savvy DJ's concoctions, and two years ago he finally
broke out his original work in the form of For Club Play Only Vol. 1.
Not heading to Spookfest for the headliners? Spookfest
has you covered. The event has some up-and-coming talent – electro-house newcomer Henry Fong of Florida is one to watch,
so be sure to save your energy for his Top 10 tracks that have earned the support of Avicii, Calvin Harris, Hardwell, and
Knife Party. Another hot new artist is Slaptop of Northern California, whose breakout single "Sunrise" has the perfect spirit
of adventure that will take this fest to new heights. This year's lineup is one of the hottest ever, so be sure to save the
The Subsonic Halloween Spookfest has been drawing the biggest names in the dance music
industry since its inception in 2009. Past notables include Nebraska dance-punk quintet The Faint, the weird and wonderful
BRIT Award winners Basement Jaxx, Nevada-based and platinum-certified The Crystal Method, and Japanese-American DJ star Steve
Aoki. Toronto talent has historically had good representation at Spookfest in the form of chaotic lo-fi duo Crystal Castles
and electropunk maestros MSTRKRFT. The entrancing visual style of British group Underworld has also made a splash, as well
as hip-hop crossover DJ Shadow of San Jose.
The host of the Subsonic Halloween Spookfest, the Bay
Area's Live 105, is one of the best alternative music stations around. In 1989 it won Billboard Magazine's Rock Radio Station
of the Year. DJ Aaron Alexson, who will be broadcasting Spookfest, was awarded "Best Terrestrial Radio DJ" by the locals in
the SF Guardian in 2009.
