MLB Spring Training tickets - 2012 Spring Training Schedule

2014 MLB Spring Training Schedule

One look at the schedule and you'll pretty much get the picture, as spring training is a cause for celebration if you're a Major League Baseball fan. Come out and see the rising stars and top-tier vets as they battle it out on the diamond and get ready for the upcoming regular season, providing the perfect sneak preview of all your favorite teams and players. Divided into the Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues, MLB fans get a chance to see the action around a few different spots in Arizona and Florida, and you'll get a chance to see if your team has what it takes to make a big run up the standings.

Get out and see a game brimming with the brightest stars of both today and tomorrow as your favorite teams look to pull it together and get ready for another intense season of baseball. Once you're there, well, you'll pretty much get the idea of why spring training is so popular each and every year, as you get to see Major League Baseball from a completely different level. There has never been a better time to make it happen, so keep an eye on the calendar and don't miss a pitch of the action.

Spring Training the Experience

Many ballparks are within driving distance from each other, allowing you an opportunity to check out all the games while following your team wherever they go. Spring training is one of the most exciting celebrations of baseball you'll ever be a part of, so don't hesitate to head out to the ballpark when the best teams of the league hit the diamond this spring. Though these are technically exhibition games, don't tell that to the players, as you'll see young guns looking to make a name for themselves and plenty of other stars hoping to remind everyone why they're still as good as it gets. There's nothing quite like being there when the electricity of the stands is heating up in a nail-biter, but you're not going to figure that out from home.

The Teams

Even the pros have to practice. It was only after hours of having a catch with their old man in the backyard and breaking in their mitts that they were able to dominate in Little League. Now, they've got to put in the work in spring training to make sure they come out swinging when the regular season hits. There is nothing quite like watching some of the best ballplayers in the world as they get together for the start of another amazing season of towering homers and spectacular moments that you'll want to be a part of. In spring training, the season is still absolutely brand new and anything can still happening, making it the perfect place for from all corners of baseball.

Spring Training Trivia

Did you know the Phillies were the first team to actually have spring training down in Florida?

The Phillies were looking for a bit of a break from the winter back in the late-1880s, and someone came up with the idea of playing ball down in the Sunshine State. After spending some time in Jacksonville in 1888, it didn't take long for them to realize that it was a great place to get ready for the season, and a couple of decades later, just about everyone was flocking down to Florida to help setup the early Grapefruit League.

Spring Training History

In 1913, the secret was finally all the way out about where you should be training as a Major Leaguer, and teams begin coming down to Florida every spring to get ready for the season. Teams were consistently added to Florida spring training over the years and eventually the Cactus League was added in Phoenix, another spot known for sunshine and beautiful spring weather. These days, spring training is the perfect way for the top players in the league to uncoil and see what they need to work on before heading back to the regular season, making it always the place for fans to escape the winter themselves and to get an early look at the best teams and players in Major League Baseball.

The Fans

With Cactus League clubs clustered in the Valley of the Sun and Grapefruit League teams splattered across Florida, MLB Spring Training offers one of baseball's great traditions while bringing fans close to the game and under the sun. Get your Cactus or Grapefruit League seats today and don't get left out of a great game you won't soon forget as the best of the best clash on the diamond with thousands of passionate fans at their back for each contest.
