The St. Cloud State University Huskies play NCAA Division I in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, the only Division
I sport at the school. Close to two dozen former St. Cloud hockey players have gone on to play professionally in the NHL
including Hockey Hall of Famer Frank Brimsek, Sam LoPresit, Len Esau, Steve Martinson and Tyler Arnason. The hockey team
moved to the NCAA Division I level during the 1987-88 season and have continued to shine in the top since.
