St. Louis Billikens Basketball Schedule
The St. Louis Billikens are coming off of one of their most successful
seasons to date, entering the 2014-2015 season as the defending A-10 champions. Expectations are just as high this year as
the Billikens will once again be the talk of the town when the college basketball season gets underway. They may have lost
key players like Dwayne Evans and Jordair Jett, but there are plenty of younger players who are capable of stepping into their
shoes and providing leadership from the start of the season. Around Saint Louis, Billikens home games are always a huge event
for students as well as for the supportive surrounding community, which is why you can always expect the stands to have an
incredible atmosphere and be absolutely packed to the brim with excitement that you can't find anywhere else in college basketball.
again the St. Louis Billikens will be taking on some of the top teams in the Atlantic 10 at Chaifetz Arena including the La
Salle Explorers, the Virginia Commonwealth Rams, the George Washington Colonials, the Saint Joseph's Hawks, and others. The
Billikens are a relatively new addition to the A-10 so they are still in the process of establishing big time rivalries in
the conference but they have already had a few big time games against the VCU Rams and you can expect to see plenty more of
that in the coming years. Of course, as defending conference champions, the Billikens can expect to take the best shot from
every school in the A-10 who will be looking to knock off last year's champions. It is never easy to emerge from the A-10
season unscathed but the Billikens would appear to have the talent to do so and will be more than capable of pulling off some
big wins. Be sure to get your tickets to see the St. Louis Billikens at Chaifetz Arena from StubHub as soon as possible as
these tickets will be selling like hotcakes all year.
St. Louis Billikens Basketball History
has had a basketball program since back in 1914 and have made the NCAA Tournament nine times, including in each of the last
three years. Last season the Billikens received a difficult draw in the Tournament and lost in the third round to the Louisville
Cardinals. Surely the returning players will be determined to improve on last year's performance and will have the confidence
to know that they can once again get back to the top of the national rankings on their way to a fourth straight NCAA Tournament
berth. Die hard fans will want to be there from the start as the Billikens continue their efforts to establish themselves
not only as one of the best teams in the A-10, but in all of college basketball.
St. Louis Billikens Basketball
The St. Louis Billikens are members of the Atlantic 10 which has long been one of the truly great conferences
in the country. The A-10 had often been underrated by those not very familiar with college basketball but with its addition
of some new great teams in recent years it has become a conference that is impossible to overlook. There are fourteen universities
who participate in Atlantic 10 basketball: St. Louis, Virginia Commonwealth, George Washington, Saint Joseph's, Massachusetts,
Dayton, Richmond, La Salle, St. Bonaventure, Rhode Island, Duquesne, George Mason, Davidson, and Fordham. There are several
classic rivalries within the conference including the cross-town rivalry between La Salle and Saint Joe's who are both former
Big 5 members, the in-state rivalry between VCU and Richmond, and the "Battle of the Rams" between Rhode Island and Fordham.
With the recent additions of teams like Davidson, Virginia Commonwealth, and Saint Louis look for new rivalries to develop
within the conference as these teams continually to face off against one another several times a year during A-10 play. If
you are looking to see some top notch college basketball action, the Atlantic 10 is the place to be. As the conference continues
to grow and gain more and more national attention every team in the conference will improve and not only make a mark on the
conference but the national college hoops landscape.
Attending a top college basketball
game is one of the best experiences to be found in sports. Many of the top student athletes in the world take the court in
college basketball, when this is combined with some of the most passionate fans in all of sports there is an atmosphere in
the arena that cannot be found anywhere else. When you set foot in Chaifetz Arena for a St. Louis Billikens home basketball
game this will all be clear. As the teams set up for opening jump ball the fans get on their feet and loudly cheer for their
alma mater and hometown favorites. The game continues full of end to end action, big time shots, and clutch defensive stops.
All of a sudden the clock is winding down in the second half and the two sides are wrapped up in yet another tight contest.
Your palms get sweaty with each trip down the floor and each time a player from your favorite team lets loose a shot you hold
your breath until the ball tickles the twine. This continues until the final buzzer when the Billikens' side erupts after
another big win and their fans exit of the arena in jubilation. The moment you leave Chaifetz Arena you will want to immediately
start planning your next trip to the venue to cheer on the Billikens.
