The Stadium Shootout tournament began in 2008 and was held at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Four teams participated—the Arizona State Sun Devils, Brigham Young Cougars, Louisville Cardinals and Minnesota Golden Gophers. The fact that the event brought teams from across the western United States together brought out an eclectic mix of fans.
