Merrill Beth Nisker was born in 1968 in Toronto. She got her start in music when living in Berlin, and has always been popular with the alternative culture wherever she has lived. She moved to Los Angeles in 2005, and although her music is not on the commercial radar due to the graphic content, her brand of shocking club songs has attracted loyal fans.
You will hear some pretty profane things at a Peaches show—that’s kind of what it’s about. But if you want someone that takes punk confrontation to a new level, and if you enjoy catchy electronica, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy Peaches. Just make sure you don’t invite along anyone whose ears are a little too sensitive for a good blue streak.
