Sublime with Rome Background
Hailing from Long Beach, California, Sublime was undoubtedly one of the greatest
ska and reggae bands in music history, and their legacy has had a monumental impact on all of popular music today. While the
band (comprised of Eric Wilson, Bradley Nowell, and Bud Gaugh) experienced great success during their days, their musical
career as a band was cut short when front man Bradley Nowell tragically died in 1996.
One year later, still reeling
from the loss of their fellow band mate, Wilson and Gaugh reunited for a musical project they titled Long Beach Dub Allstars,
in which they played both new music and classic Sublime hits. For over a decade, Wilson and Gaugh both worked on various projects
separately and together, but it wasn't until 2009 that they brought Rome Ramirez on board to be the lead singer. The trio
decided to revert to calling themselves "Sublime", but this instigated a lawsuit by Nowell's family, who claimed that the
name Sublime belonged to the deceased Nowell and therefore the new band shouldn't use it. So by 2010, the trio decided on
the name "Sublime with Rome".
After touring excessively under the name Sublime with Rome and producing new music, Gaugh
left the band to spend more time with his family. He was subsequently replaced by drummer Josh Freese, and the new trio continues
to rock out stages wherever they go with both new tunes and the best in the Sublime repertoire. So be prepared for some phenomenal
