In 2003 Sun Devil Stadium hosted its first Monday Night Football game in more than four years, although it did not feature the Cardinals who played at the stadium at the time. The game was between the San Diego Chargers and the Miami Dolphins and had been slated for San Diego but had to be moved at the last minute due to wildfires in San Diego that week.
