About the Artist
Switchfoot was formed in San Diego, California in 1996 as a
trio, consisting of Jon Foreman, his brother Tim and friend Chad Butler on drums. They caught the attention of music industry
big-wig Charlie Peacock and were signed to Re:think Records. They were signed under their current moniker, even though the
band began under the name Chin Up. They were marketed almost exclusively to Christian radio stations. But they were able to
cross over into the realm of pop-rock when their music was featured prominently in the movie A Walk to Remember. The film's
star, Mandy Moore, even sang Switchfoot's "Only Hope" in the movie. After the exposure they received from the film, Switchfoot
began attracting the attention of major labels, and were soon signing with Columbia Records. They released their first album,
The Beautiful Letdown, one their new label, and it was an instant hit. The album went double platinum, selling more than 2.6
million copies. The band's following continues to grow under their major label, and they always deliver a memorable live performance!

The band first formed in the mid 1990s as Chin Up. At the time, the band consisted of Jon Foreman, his
brother Tim and drummer Chad Butler. It wasn't long before the band was discovered by music industry big-wig Charlie Peacock.
He signed them to his label Re:think Records and within a few months they were recording their first album. While Switchfoot
was working on their first three albums, Re:think Records was bought out by Christian label, Sparrow Records. This meant that
Switchfoot's hopes of being marketed outside of the Christian Contemporary music world were put on hold. Although, the band
was disappointed that they weren't able to reach a wider audience, they were still grateful for the fans who began pouring
in. Their album, Learning to Breathe, was even nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Gospel Album.
But their big break
came when Switchfoot's music became a large part of the soundtrack for the film A Walk to Remember. The film's star, Mandy
Moore, even sang one of the band's songs, "Only Hope," during movie. Four other songs made the soundtrack and put the band
on the map. Since then, they have become international superstars and continue to surprise their devoted following.
This is a show that you absolutely won't want to skip if you love Contemporary Christian rock
music. You'll understand that as soon as you're rocking out next to your fellow Switchfoot fans. Put down the remote and head
out for a night of music that is sure to be the talk of the town both before and after the show. Switchfoot is a one-of-a-kind
band that will have you up on your feet, waving your arms and singing along to all of their greatest hits and their latest
tunes. Don't miss your chance to see them perform live!
